The Pula Amphitheater - Arena

The Pula Amphitheater or popularly called Arena is one of the six largest Roman amphitheaters in the world, known as best-preserved Roman Amphitheatre in the world.  

This magnificent monument of Antiquity dating from the 1st century was primary used for gladiator fights. Today it is the most famous and important monument in Istria which is open for sightseeing during the day and at night it becomes a unique stage for numerous cultural events and concerts. Every week during the summer the Arena hosts gladiator fights as part of the historical and entertainment spectacle “Spectacvla Atiqva”.
